Why Belgium?
Quality of care, ease of travel and low prices makes Belgium our most popular destination for cosmetic surgery. Belgium offers some of the best medical cosmetic surgeons in Western Europe with a high reputation for its hospitals and clinics. All surgeons are trained for a minimum of 7 years and specialists for 12 years. In a recent World Health Commission poll Belgium ranked top for medical purpose out of 175 countries, a contributing factor was because secondary infection rates average less than 0.5% compared to the UK at 10%. Cases of MRSA are non-existent in Belgium due to high standards of hygiene and post operative care.
Due to Belgium's flexibility and stable infrastructure in the hospitals, patients will often be operated on day of arrival and discharged the same or following day. This creates an excellent choice for clients who do not want to be away from home for a long period and those with strong family or work commitments. For example Liposculpture or breast augmentation can be done on a Tweakender, fly to Belgium on Friday morning depart Sunday afternoon.
Doctors Accreditation
All surgeons are carefully researched and hospitals and clinics visited before we refer any of our clients to their services.
All of our Belgium surgeons are members of the American Society for Aesthetics Plastic Surgery and registered with the Royal Belgian Society for Plastic Surgery. To be a member of these Societies the surgeon will have to regularly attend courses and workshops to keep updated on medical practises.
It takes 12 years to become a surgeon; 7 years at medical school and a further 5 years for training in their specialist field. After medical school the doctor must enter into a residency that can last from 2 to 6 years under the supervision of a Professor.
