Sylvia Lock, 55, was made redundant from her office job after 18 years, so she decided to use her redundancy money on a new look.
When Sylvia was handed a redundancy notice after 18 years of loyal service, she felt like she’s been thrown on the scrap heap. Her confidence in tatters, Sylvia wondered how she would ever find another job when there were always so many younger candidates going for the same position. Forced to take a long, hard look at herself, Sylvia hated what she saw – bad teeth, saggy lined skin and sad eyes. She then decided to use some of her redundancy money for a dramatic make over.
Sylvia turned to the Internet to start researching cosmetic surgery. That’s when she discovered her money wasn’t going to stretch far. Then she came across a website that offered tailor made packages for cosmetic surgery abroad at a fraction of what it would cost in the UK. She contacted Let’s Face It Together who arranged for her to attend a consultation with the surgeon in the UK. The surgeon agreed a face lift with eye rejuvenation would knock years off Sylvia. She also opted to have her teeth fixed, have a tummy tuck and breast implants at the same time. He gave her a price of £19,700 which meant she saved thousands compared with prices in the UK.
The next month, Sylvia flew for the surgery that would change her life. Upon arrival she went straight to the clinic for her pre op check up. "The clinic was so clean and professional. I felt totally at ease especially with the nurses and staff making lots of fuss over me" says Sylvia. She was in theatre for 3 hours and when she came round her head was bandaged completely, with an ice mask over her eyes. Gradually the swelling went down and her new sculptured face started to show through. After 10 days Sylvia flew home to her family where they were waiting in anticipation. The best reaction was from her daughters who gasped in amazement when they saw their new younger looking Mum. Just a few weeks later, Sylvia looked and felt 20 years younger.
